Updated over 5 months ago

Import Types

The V2 Import Tool supports four main import types:

1. Contacts – Import customer contact information.

2. Pools – Add or update pool details associated with contacts.

3. Contacts + Pools – Import both contacts and pool data in one go.

4. Products – Bring in product information for inventory management.

These import types allow you to organize and update different areas of your Pooltrackr system with ease.

Supported File Formats

You can import data using either:

XLSX (Excel) files

CSV (Comma-Separated Values) files

Both formats are widely used and supported by various external systems, giving you flexibility in how you prepare and manage your data.

Mapping Data Fields

A key feature of the V2 Import Tool is its ability to map your data fields to Pooltrackr’s models. This means you can import files from different external systems without worrying about matching each field perfectly beforehand. During the import process, you’ll have the option to map each field in your file to a Pooltrackr field, allowing for seamless integration of your data into Pooltrackr.

Bulk Data Updates

In addition to importing new data, the V2 Import Tool supports bulk data updates for existing records. As long as your import file includes the correct IDs associated with each record, the tool will update existing entries without creating duplicates. This feature is particularly useful for:

• Updating multiple customer contact details in a single upload.

• Adjusting product information across several records simultaneously.

Step-by-Step Guide to Importing Data

Tips for Successful Imports

  • Ensure your file is formatted correctly and contains the necessary data fields.

  • Include IDs in your import file if you want to update existing records.

  • Use the field mapping feature to customize data alignment and verify data before finalizing the import.

  • For a smoother import experience, use the provided example files to improve automatic field matching. By using these templates, your file’s columns will closely align with Pooltrackr’s data structure, reducing the time needed for manual field mapping and minimizing potential errors.
