Beta Software on Mobile Devices

Please don't run beta software on your work phone

Quick heads up for anyone using the app for work: please keep your phone on the normal public version of iOS or Android, not a beta or developer preview.

Why it matters: Beta versions are unfinished test software. They can be unstable, drain battery, and break apps without warning. When that happens on a work device, it can stop you logging jobs, taking payments, or syncing, and because the beta is the cause, it's not something we can fix from our side. Sticking to the public release keeps your day running smoothly.

How to switch back to the normal version

On iPhone:

  1. Open Settings > General > Software Update

  2. Tap Beta Updates and set it to Off

  3. Your phone will move back to the normal version at the next public update. If you want off beta straight away, contact Apple Support for help.

On Android:

  1. Open the Play Store or your phone maker's beta program (for example, Samsung Members)

  2. Leave or unenroll from the beta program

  3. Follow the prompts to return to the standard version. If you get stuck, contact your device maker's support (Google, Samsung, and so on).
